Hillary Clinton to Withdraw From Historic Candidacy

Her campaign says that Hillary Clinton is withdrawing from her 17-month quest to become the first female president of the United States and will back her rival Barack Obama.

Recently, Obama gained sufficient delegates to secure and win the nomination. Democrats united for his candidacy, denoting Clinton that it was time to renounce. The declaration ended the five-month nominating battle between the first serious female candidate and the most feasible black competitor ever. Hillary Clinton told the House Democrats that she will express support for Obama’s candidacy.

Moreover, the former first lady surprised even her own supporters with a speech that suggested no sign that she was going to surrender. Is there an attempt or a possibility to position herself as Obama’s vice-presidential running mate?
